
The County Commission awarded a contract for construction to Ben M. Radcliff Contractor, Inc. at their July 16, 2025 meeting. Construction will begin in September 2025. Construction will take two years to complete.

The City Docks Redevelopment project will be breaking ground in September 2025! Ben M. Radcliff Contractor, Inc. will be constructing this iconic site over the next two years. When complete, the City of Bayou La Batre will have a new boat ramp, extensive parking, parking for trucks-trailers and single cars, a 50-slip marina, a multi-use building, 2 pavilions, and greenspace for community events.

The Bayou La Batre City Docks Redevelopment Project (City Docks Project) is an opportunity to revitalize the City Docks. The goal is to meet current and future economic, environmental, and recreational needs by planning sustainable retail and commercial developments and recreational opportunities that support eco-tourism and fishing industries. The City Docks Project provides a means for developing amenities that attract both locals and tourists while showcasing Bayou La Batre’s small-town coastal atmosphere and historical heritage as the ‘Seafood Capital of Alabama’.
